Missouri Farmers Care opens Drive to Feed Kids grants

The executive director of Missouri Farmers Care says the MFC Foundation is now accepting grant applications for the 2027 Drive to Feed Kids.

“The Missouri Farmers Care Grant Program offers a chance for 4-H clubs, FFA Chapers, Career and Technical Education Organizations and Collegiate Ag Organizations to see hunger in their communities and tackle it locally,” says Ashley McCarty.

McCarty says the goal is to match local resources, with grants ranging from $250 to $750, which can do many things in the community.

“In the past, it’s been everything from local meat processing. We have pork, poultry to fresh fruit and vegetable purchases in winter when they’re hard to come by locally. We’ve really seen a growth in the last few years of large meal packing events.”

Grant applications are being accepted through October 26. McCarty says organizations receiving grants should know within one week of the final deadline as to whether they have received funding.
