More than 950 ag groups support USMCA ratification

More than 950 organizations from the food and agriculture sector wrote a letter to members of Congress Tuesday urging swift ratification of the US Mexico Canada Agreement.

The letter stated the USMCA will benefit the US food and ag industry while providing consumers a more abundant supply of high-quality, safe food at an affordable price.

The groups wrote that USMCA builds on the success of the North American Free Trade Agreement by improving exports to neighboring countries. They say the USMCA would deliver an additional $2.2 billion to the US economy.

The letter was signed by local, state and national ag groups including the American Farm Bureau Federation, the American Soybean Association and the National Corn Growers Association.
