NE Iowa farmer done planting soybeans in record time

A northeast Iowa farmer finished soybean planting in record time.

Tyler Carlson of St. Olaf says conditions have been excellent this spring.

“We did finish up soybeans (Thursday) night, which is an all-time record for us. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but we got them in the ground (and) they all look happy.”

He tells Brownfield about a third of his corn crop is left to plant.

“Real satisfied with the placement of the corn plants.”

Carlson says late week rain will slow progress for a few days.
