Pivot Bio finishing work on new STL facility

Ag-tech company Pivot Bio will soon finish work on a new product success center in the St. Louis suburbs.

Pivot Bio produces a microbe nitrogen fertilizer product, which can be applied as a seed treatment or with equipment in-furrow at spring planting.

Pivot Bio has been putting the finishing touches on the research, development and testing portion of the center in Hazelwood this year. Senior Vice President of Product Innovation Ernie Sanders tells Brownfield the work is almost complete.

“We have equipment for treating seed, liquid in-furrow equipment for testing products, cold rooms, seed storage and other lab equipment to develop new versions of products to launch.”

Sanders says research, development and testing is second and final phase of the product success center. Pivot Bio has already opened the manufacturing portion of the building to produce and package on-seed products.

“Products that will be used by our customers at 2024 planting is being produced in the facility right now.”

Sanders says by January 1, all construction on the success center should be complete and operating at peak capacity.
