Rains through the latter part of the week prevented harvest work in most Ohio counties last week. According to numbers from the USDA, there were a total of three days good for fieldwork.

In spite of the rain, harvest is underway throughout the state. Grain moisture from corn and soybeans remained the same as the previous week. 21 percent for corn and 14 percent for soybeans. The wet conditions also prevented planting of winter wheat over the past week.

Around 13 percent of Ohio grain corn has been harvested, as has 12 percent of Ohio soybeans. Around 10 percent of Ohio winter wheat has been planted. The wet and cooler weather also was positive on Ohio pasture and did impact emergence on winter wheat already planted.
