Scholarships available for students entering the pork industry

Plan to go into the pork industry after college? Then check out these scholarships in Ohio.

Ohio Pork Producers Council

The Ohio Pork Producers Council offers several scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 per
individual. To qualify, applicants must:

  • be the child of parents actively engaged in the production of pork (production of pork defined as a continuous 365 day swine operation). Children of managers, employees and contract growers are eligible.
  • have parents who are members of the Ohio Pork Producers Council and Ohio residents.
  • be entering their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of college.

Ohio Pork Council Women

The Ohio Pork Council Women also offers $500 scholarships.

To qualify, applicants:

  • Applicant must be the child of parents actively engaged in the production of pork (production of pork defined as a continuous 365 day swine operation).
  • Parents must be members of the Ohio Pork Producers Council and Ohio residents.
  • Applicant must be entering their Junior or Senior year of college or Graduate School.
  • Applicant must maintain a 2.5 grade point average.
