SE Nebraska farmer reports better than average yields
Southeastern Nebraska farmer Nathan Dorn says after some early harvest delays, they’re getting back on track.
“We’ve had about ten days of really nice weather where we’ve really been hammer down on some soybeans,” Dorn says. “They’re coming out quick and they’re coming out very well. We had rain this summer to support a good crop.”
Dorn says soybean yields have been running better than they expected.
“Probably about ten percent above where we thought they would be,” he says.
And Dorn thinks their corn crop also has better-than-average yield potential.
Dorn farms near Firth, Nebraska. He serves as a director on the Nebraska Soybean Board.
