Solid week for export inspections

The USDA reports corn, soybeans, and wheat export inspections were above what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the 2016/17 marketing year.

Wheat came out at 429,770 tons, up 150,604 from the week ending November 10th and 157,530 higher than the week ending November 19th, 2015. For the 2016/17 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 12,865,241 tons, compared to 9,939,087 in 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 875,976 tons, 190,986 more than the previous week and 375,146 above this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 11,738,327 tons, compared to 6,429,367 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 2,666,079 tons, a decrease of 277,629 from the week before, but an increase of 811,448 on the year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 21,908,956 tons, compared to 18,173,689 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 115,727 tons. That’s up a jump of 99,027 tons on the week, but a decline of 95,827 on the year. 2016/17 sorghum inspections are 825,125 tons, compared to 2,603,592 in 2015/16.
