South Carolina Commissioner's School for Ag taking applications

The applicationperiod is open for high school juniors and seniors to apply for the South Carolina Commissioner’s School for Agriculture at Clemson University. About 45 students will be accepted for the hands-on program and they can be from inside or outside the state.

The school, in itssixth year, runs from July 18th through the 24th this year. Students will take part in science exploration and workshops on teamwork, personal growth, integrity and leadership. They can chose an area of study but will be exposed to organic food growth, animal and vet sciences, aquaculture, naturalresource management and more. Clemson university research farms, the Clemson Experimental Forest and rafting on the Chattooga River are part of the experience.

The application deadline is May 1st.
