South Dakota feedlot permit denied

Hand County has said ‘no’ to what would have been the state’s largest feedlot. A Cattle Network story says Northern Prime Feeders applied for a permit to build a 50,000 head lot on Eagle Pass Ranch, but faced opposition from people concerned about water and air pollution. The permit was denied by the Hand County board on a vote of three to two.
