Texas cattlemen call for RFS waiver

Texas cattlemen are again calling on the EPA to waive the current Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) in light of corn shortages and soaring feed costs.

The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) says that, with corn supplies continuing to tighten across the U.S., the RFS corn-ethanol mandate is only compounding the situation by reducing the already extremely limited amount of corn available for feed.

The group says a waiver of the mandate would help alleviate the situation “and put corn back on the same playing field as cattle producers.”
