The future of Missouri agriculture

Missouri’s FFA members are celebrating National FFA Week at the state capitol. Governor Mike Parson says investing in the future of Missouri agriculture is important.

“The future of our state is going to depend on these young men and women, to make sure they carry on a tradition that’s been passed on for generations. We need to make sure we do everything we can to help them.’

Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn says 40 FFA chapters from across the state are at the capitol to learn more about career opportunities.

“FFA is one of the bridges that we have to bringing that next generation back to the farm or ranch or to help them become a first generation farmer. The leadership skills and mental toughness kids learn through the FFA is so valuable.”

Missouri has more than 300 FFA Chapters and 25,000 student members. National FFA Week continues through Saturday, February 25. Parson and Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe took a tractor cruise on Wednesday to the state capitol. Photo credit: Missouri Department of Agriculture
