Time zone debate takes time

Discussion about the time zone structure in Indiana often ends up in a highly contested debate.  At Indiana Farm Bureau’s August Delegate Session – it received quite a bit of floor time

Sheryl Seib of Posey County says it doesn’t make any sense to be aligned with the East Coast.  “I think it is time that we get to the Midwest and align ourselves with Chicago,” she says.  “YES!  Let’s let this issue of time be finished – but let’s vote correctly before it is done.”

Ultimately the delegate body voted that IFB’s policy reflect that Indiana should be changed to the Central Time Zone.

  • How about we keep one time here in Indiana? Stop messing with the clocks! The sun doesn’t change; why do we? Why is everyone getting up in the dark and going to bed in the light?
