Turning Farm Data Into Action

There is no shortage of data available to farmers today. The challenge is turning all that information into action that can make a difference in the field. At the 2026 Farm Progress Show, Brownfield talked with Kyle King, Head of Digital Farming, North America, for xarvio FIELD MANAGER with BASF, about how digital tools can move beyond simply collecting data to delivering real-time and predictive insights farmers can use right now.
King says one example is using data to improve seed placement—putting the right variety on the right acre at the right rate to create the best possible opportunity for success. The goal is to bring together data, technology and local agronomic expertise to help farmers make more informed decisions at the time those decisions matter most. It’s a look at how digital farming is evolving from data generation to data-driven action, helping turn information into practical recommendations farmers can put to work.
