USDA announces $200 million in Agricultural Trade Promotion funding

The USDA has awarded $200 million to nearly 60 organizations through the Agricultural Trade Promotion Program.

It is one of three USDA programs created to help farmers impacted by trade uncertainty and retaliatory tariffs. Recipients include the U.S. Meat Export Federation, USA Poultry and Egg Export Council, U.S. Dairy Export Council, U.S. Grains Council, and others.

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says the program will help farmers and ranchers expand existing markets and access new ones.

The announcement is part of the $12 billion trade aid package authorized by President Trump.

The USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service accepted applications from trade associations, cooperatives, and organizations this fall.
