Used equipment still going strong
The market for good used farm equipment has been red hot in recent years. Mark Stock with the online auction service BigIron.com looks for that trend to continue in 2013.
“We sure do, because new equipment just keeps going up in price,” Stock says, “and, of course, for a lot of farmers, the last couple years have been really good years.”
Stock says the demand for tractors is especially strong.
“Tractors are hot-hot-hot, no matter when they want to sell right now. Good, quality, mid- to low-hour tractors—mechanical fronts—are topping the market.”
Stock says Big Iron’s first sale of 2013—on January 9th—will feature several retirement sales.
