Wenner crowned Lamb and Wool Queen

Director_OSIA_ Katherine Wenner_2014 Ohio Lamb and Wool Queen_Megan Hardesty_Auglaize Co_webKatherine Wenner of Delaware County, a senior at The Ohio State University majoring in animal sciences was crowned 2013-2014 Ohio Lamb and Wool Queen on Sunday, July 28, at the Ohio State Fair.

For Wenner, who just returned from her study abroad program to the Czech Republic on Saturday, representing the sheep industry in Ohio is something special.

“Ever since I started raising sheep this has been a goal,” said Wenner. “It’s not just a crown and a sash, it’s a lot more than that and I feel very privileged to be able to improve the industry that we already have that is so strong in Ohio.”

As Lamb and Wool Queen, Katherine will travel around the state promoting the State’s lamb and wool industries.
