Wisconsin farmer thankful soybeans are moving to new markets

A Wisconsin farmer would like to see trade relations with China improved, but says there is a soybean market elsewhere.  Randy Kuehl from Kewaunee, Wisconsin says, “We’re finding a market yet because, you know, the phyto (phytosanitary) tests are coming through, so I think it finds its way where it has to go.  People just don’t know how it gets there.”

Kuehl tells Brownfield the prices are lower than farmers would like, but there are buyers for quality beans.  “We’re still exporting a lot of beans yet, the same as normal if not more beans at this time of the year, so the beans are still finding a market out of Wisconsin.”

Kuehl spoke with Brownfield during the Wisconsin Farm Bureau annual conference.
