World Food Prize Laureate to speak at Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry
World Food Prize Laureate Catherine Bertini will deliver the keynote at the Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry.
Purdue ag alumni program manger Danica Kirkpatrick says Bertini “offers a unique and vital perspective, not only on the global food crisis but also on the changing role of women in ag.”
As the former executive director of the United Nations Wood Food Programme, she led the United Nation’s response to food insecurity in North Korea, Afghanistan, and Bosnia.
She also served as assistant secretary of agriculture for food and consumer services in the George H.W. Bush administration, where she led food assistance programs for low-income families.
The 2018 Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry is at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Elements Financial Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
