Hoosiers respond to Ag Secretary

When I asked what they liked about what Agriculture Secretary Vilsack had to say at the Rural Community Forum he held in Hendricks County last week, I got three different answers. Julia Wickard with the Indiana Beef Cattle Association liked his message about education and marketing, for Hendricks County pork producer David Hardin it was the Secretary’s emphasis on conservation and his understanding that pork producers are going through some rough times, and for Don Villwock, President of Indiana Farm Bureau it was the Secretary’s comments about greenhouse gas and how agriculture can be part of the solution.
