Wayne Fredericks of Osage is the new president of the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA).

Others elected to ISA leadership roles are: Rolland Schnell of Newton, president-elect; Jeff Jorgenson of Sidney, treasurer; Bill Shipley of Nodaway, secretary; and Lindsay Greiner of Keota, executive committee.

ISA directors also elected Fredericks and Dean Coleman, Humboldt, to represent Iowa on the American Soybean Association (ASA) board of directors.

“Iowa soybean farmers look to these leaders to manage their investments, whether it be in research to find solutions to the latest production issues or in market development to find new uses or customers for our production,” Fredericks said in an ISA news release. “These leaders also engage in the policy making process to protect our freedom to operate. At the state, national and international levels, these leaders will work on behalf of Iowa Soybean farmers to enhance their competitiveness and bring value to their farm operations.”

Brownfield visited with Fredericks about his involvement with ISA and what he sees as the opportunities and challenges facing Iowa soybean growers.
