A continuing commitment to agriculture

Pelizza

As one walks around the 2015 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days one can’t help but take note of how agriculture has changed over the years. Unmanned aerial vehicles, 600-plus horsepower tractors, anaerobic digesters; things that weren’t even in our wildest dreams 15 years ago. But there are some names that have been mainstays in agriculture over the years like Rural Mutual Insurance. CEO Peter Pelizza says his company was started by farmers over 80 years ago and that remains a priority to this day. Very few companies know farming and know farmers the way Rural does. The key is agents who understand farming, “It’s a relationship-based business, people buy from people they trust.” Pelizza points to the host Statz Brothers Farm as an example of how knowledgeable agents work with farms to provide the protection needed as they grow.

As part of Rural Mutual’s continuing commitment to agriculture the company has become a major sponsor of Wisconsin Farm Technology Days as well as their extensive support of FFA, 4-H and the Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Agriculturalist programs.
