Largest launch in Pioneer history in 2018

DuPont Lumesina seed treatment represents the largest launch in Pioneer’s history.  Mark Risinger North American Seed Treatment Senior Market Manager tells Brownfield this product will be on more acres and impact more units of sale than any other product.

Risinger tells Brownfield the seed treatment contains a new molecule to combat phytophthora, the number-one yield-robbing disease in soybeans. DuPont Lumisena fungicide seed treatment uses a new class of chemistry and a new mode of action to protect soybean plants.

In multi-year trials, Lumisena seed treatment improved plant stands by more than 2,500 plants per acre under heavy pressure and increased yields 1.7 bushels per acre in the presence of Phytophthora versus the existing industry-standard seed treatment.   Risinger tells Brownfield Lumisena controls Phytophthora at all life cycle stages of the disease, resulting is healthier plants and greater crop efficiency. Lumisena is the only seed-applied technology that offers protection against Phytophthora with preventative, curative and eradicative activity in soybeans.

The benefits of DuPont Lumisena are shown in picture of Mark Risinger with 3 soybean plants. This side-by-side evaluation of soybeans grown in cups, with a disc inoculated with Phytophthora two inches below the surface, shows the dramatic difference in root development and plant vigor under Phytophthora pressure with an untreated seed, industry-standard treatment, and one treated with Lumesina.

In crop year 2018, every treated unit of Pioneer beans will contain Lumesina.
