Soy Transportation Council research ongoing

The US Soy Transportation Coalition met at Commodity Classic for updates on the latest research studies. Illinois member Dean Campbell tells Brownfield that there’s some exciting research underway, “What would be the outcome if we lost one of the lock and dams on the inland waterway system – being the Upper Mississippi or the Ohio River.”

He says they need to be sure that production can go out and supplies come back in if they were forced to rely on roads and railways only. Another of their studies focuses on weight limits on the roads.

Campbell farms 2100 acres of beans, corn and wheat with a partner in southern Illinois.
