Syngenta and Gavilon outline Right to Grow

Last month Syngenta and Gavilon Grain announced their “Right to Grow” program. “Right to Grow” would offer farmers grain marketing options in 2014 for Syngenta’s Agrisure Duracade corn, which has full regulatory approval in the US but has yet to receive approval in China.

Greg Konsor vice president and general manager for Gavilon Grain says they will facilitate the marketing for the grower to the approved destination market.  “We’re going to find areas where it’s approved to go to,” he says. “Feed mills, on-farm feed, feed lots, hog producers, wet mills, or even our internal demand, Texas, new Mexico, or Idaho.”

David Elser, part of Syngenta’s “Right to Grow” launch team outlines the areas they’ll be serving.  “Nebraska will be a full launch, Kansas will be a full launch, and Iowa will be a full launch,” he says.  “There will be part of Minnesota that won’t be – Illinois will be cut off at Highway 36.  South of 36 we won’t be selling Duracade.”
