Brownfield Ag Weather Today

As Hurricane Fiona moves away from Puerto Rico, the commonwealth will continue to deal with lingering impacts such as power outages and significant flooding.  Meanwhile on the U.S. mainland, some areas will experience dry weather for the remainder of the week.  In fact, hot, dry conditions will dominate the South, stretching from the southern Plains to the southern Atlantic coastal plain, excluding Florida’s peninsula.  Mostly dry weather will also prevail during the next 5 days in southern California and much of the Great Basin.  In contrast, a late-season monsoon surge could result in locally heavy showers in the Four Corners region.  In addition, northern and central California will receive some beneficial rainfall rain during the first half of the week.  Elsewhere, sharply cooler air will arrive across the Midwest and Northeast during the mid- to late-week period, preceded and accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Late-week frost may accompany the cool spell from the northern Plains into the Great Lakes region.
