Brownfield Ag Weather Today

East of the Rockies, a warming trend will continue for the remainder of the week, following a Christmas weekend cold snap.  During the second half of the week, increasingly wet weather will accompany the warmth across the South, East, and lower Midwest.  In fact, 5-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches more across the South, with locally heavy precipitation extending as far north as the lower Ohio Valley.  Rainfall could approach 4 inches in western Florida and environs.  Meanwhile, a series of Pacific storm systems will result in cool, showery, unsettled weather in the West.  The heaviest Western precipitation will fall along the Pacific Coast, extending inland to the Cascades and Sierra Nevada, resulting in meaningful drought relief.  Five-day precipitation totals could top 10 inches in parts of the Sierra Nevada.  Mountain snow will spread as far east as the Rockies, but much of the nation’s mid-section will remain dry.
