Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Relentless heat will persist for the remainder of the week across Texas and environs, leading to additional stress on livestock and summer crops.  A northeastward extension of the hot weather will reach portions of the central Plains and the western and central Corn Belt.  In contrast, cooler-than-normal conditions will cover much of the West, as well as areas along and near the Atlantic Coast.  Meanwhile, significant rainfall will be focused across two areas:  the middle and southern Atlantic States and the north-central U.S.  Five-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches or more from Florida to Virginia, while 1 to 3 inches may fall across the northwestern half of the Plains.  However, much of the Midwest will remain unfavorably dry, with rain just clipping portions of the Ohio Valley and western Corn Belt.
