Brownfield Ag Weather Today

In any individual location east of the Rockies, there will be little variation in daytime temperatures over the next 5 days, with extreme heat confined to the Deep South and generally cool conditions stretching from the Midwest into the Northeast.  In the West, however, building heat, gusty winds, and localized lightning strikes could lead to an elevated wildfire threat.  Hot weather will periodically spill across the Rockies, particularly onto the northern High Plains.  Meanwhile, 5-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches or more in many areas from the Mississippi Valley eastward.  Hot, dry conditions will persist, however, in the western Gulf Coast States.  Elsewhere, monsoon-related showers will primarily affect the southern half of the West.
