Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A generally quiet weather pattern across much of the country will become suddenly more active as the week progresses.  Initially, storminess will increase by the middle of the week in the Pacific Coast States, with the heaviest precipitation expected across northern California and the Pacific Northwest.  Meanwhile, a disturbance crossing the Deep South will generate some rain along and near the Gulf Coast.  Late in the week, however, a stronger storm system traversing the South will produce significant precipitation, with wet snow possible along the northern edge of the precipitation shield, from the southern High Plains to the central Appalachians and portions of middle Atlantic States.  Five-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 4 inches or more in the central Gulf Coast region.  In contrast, dry weather will prevail during the next 5 days across the northern Plains and upper Midwest.
