Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A strong, slow-moving storm system centered over the middle Mississippi Valley will drift northward through Wednesday.  For the remainder of Tuesday, there is a significant threat of severe weather, including large hail and high winds, in an area broadly centered on the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.  Meanwhile, wind-driven snow will develop across the upper Great Lakes region, with accumulations topping a foot in some locations.  Subsequently, the storm will translate eastward to the northern Atlantic Coast on Thursday.  Snow showers associated with the departing storm will linger across the Northeast into Saturday.  Late-week frost and light freezes may occur as far south as the southern Appalachians and the Tennessee Valley.  Elsewhere, rain and snow showers will gradually overspread the western U.S. during the mid- to late-week period, with some precipitation reaching the Plains on Saturday.
