Milder days ahead, a quieter pattern for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures west of the Mississippi to contrast with near- to below-normal temperatures across the eastern U.S., though a pair of exceptions include a pocket of cooler-than-normal conditions in the Great Basin and warmth in southern Florida.

Near- or below-normal precipitation is anticipated across most of the country save for an enhanced probability of wetter-than-normal weather in Texas and neighboring environs.
