Seasonal warmth & heat for most; organized rains ahead to favor the Plains, upper Midwest

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures in the middle Atlantic States and environs, as well as much of the West, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail in southern Florida, northern New England, and a broad area from the southern Rockies and western and central Gulf Coast States to the Midwest.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in southern Texas and parts of the Midwest and Southwest.
