Wide-ranging temps to fuel an active pattern across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures along and east of a line from central Texas to Lake Superior, while cooler-than-normal conditions will cover the West, as well as large sections of the Plains and upper Midwest.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in a few areas, including parts of California, Florida, western Texas, and southeastern New Mexico.
