Organic milk and Omega 3s

A new study shows organic milk beats conventional milk in one area of nutrition. But what does that mean?  Washington State University researchers found that the organic milk it studied had “significantly higher levels of heart healthy fatty acids” than conventionally produced milk.  Greg Miller, president of the Dairy Research Institute, says milk is good for you no matter whether it’s organically or conventionally produced but it is not a main source of those fatty acids.  Plus, any “benefit” is with whole milk because when the fat is reduced to make 2%, one-percent or fat-free milk, the Omega 3s go with it.
