What you need to know about your ground beef

There has been a post floating around social media that claims the ground beef purchased at grocery stores, which is bright red in color, is injected with dyes, water, and other compounds to give it that appearance and is less healthy than the ground beef you buy from a local farmer.

David Hayden, a meat scientist, says there’s a perfectly valid reason the ground beef found in the meat case is the color that it is.
