A farm organization and equipment manufacturer have partnered to bring discounts to members.

The American Farm Bureau Federation has negotiated a program with Caterpillar that provides members with up to $2,000 in purchase incentives on Cat machines.

Minnesota Farm Bureau executive director Chris Radatz says similar programs exist with GM, Polaris and Case IH.

“This was another opportunity to partner with a major player in the equipment field.  They want to promote more safety issues and work with Farm Bureau with that, and as a side benefit, members who purchase some of their lines of equipment can actually have a cash savings.”

He tells Brownfield the discounts depend on the size of the purchase.

“It ranges from a small-wheel loader-you get a $2,000 cash discount.  Down to a mini-hydraulic excavator, which is $250 to $500 cash discount.”

Radatz says Farm Bureau is always looking for ways to partner with suppliers as a way to add value to its membership.
