Hybrid options available for 2015

IMG_0152

With lower commodity prices heading into next year, growers are looking for ways to better maximize productivity and profitability.  Ryan French, senior marketing manager for DuPont Pioneer says that means growers are going to have to find the combination of products and technology that works best for them.  “Whether they’re trying new high performance products going for that top end yield or they need a defensive hybrid that’s been proven – we have all different genetics that can fit a grower’s preference and farm,” he says.

French tells Brownfield DuPont makes decisions locally for which hybrids advance.  “We perform 1,300 trials across the Corn Belt,” he says.  “Those are all done to make local product advancement decisions.  As we make those decisions, we’re thinking about how growers can maximize profitability on their farm.”

He says with growers facing lower commodity prices, hybrid selection will be even more important in the 2015 growing season.
