Visiting with BIO’s Clare Thorp
Clare Thorp has an interesting background. She is a native of Ireland and studied agriculture in college. She served as an agricultural inspector in the Irish Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and as an agricultural attache in the Irish Embassy in Washington, D.C. Thorp is currently the managing director of the industrial and environmental section of the national Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) in Washington.
At the recent World Food Prize event in Des Moines, we visited with Thorp about her role at BIO and her connection to agriculture.
