Acres for Plenish high-oleic soybeans will expand west of the Mississippi for the first time in 2016.  DuPont Pioneer and soybean processor and refinery AGP, announced today Plenish high oleic soybeans will be grown in Nebraska, significantly expanding the footprint for high-oleic soybeans.

AGP will contract with growers around its Hastings, Nebraska processing plant.

David Tegeder, senior marketing manager for Plenish with DuPont Pioneer, says it represents a significant move to the west for high oleic soybeans.  “Up until now our growing platforms have basically been east of the Mississippi,” he says.  “With AGP-Hastings this is going to be our first footprint west of the Mississippi.  It’s also our single largest launch to date.”

Mark Sandeen, AGP vice president of processing and marketing says Plenish provides area soybean farmers an opportunity to bring added value to their farms.

Farmers will receive a 50-cent per bushel incentive for producing and storing the beans or a 40-cent per bushel premium for a harvest delivery.

Currently high-oleic soybeans are being growing select parts of 9 states.
