Minnesota corn harvest down to last 20 percent
Minnesota farmers harvested nearly 20 percent of the remaining corn crop last week.
The USDA says with almost five days suitable for fieldwork, the corn for grain harvest is 79 percent complete.
That’s 12 days behind normal, but an improvement from the previous pace.
Corn moisture content is averaging 18 percent.
The Minnesota sunflower harvest is ahead of last year at 93 percent done.
Farmers are also baling corn stalks, moving cattle off pasture, spreading fertilizer, and working on fall tillage.
