Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmer program has a new name

The Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmer program has a new name.

The Young Farmers and Ag Professionals program is open to Indiana Farm Bureau members under age 40.

The new name, unveiled at the Young Farmers and Ag Professionals conference this past weekend, highlights the important role ag professionals play in the program and the changing landscape of the industry as fewer people are directly involved in production ag.

County young farmer programs were recognized during the conference. Spencer County received the Outstanding County Young Farmer Award and Vanderburgh County was named the Most Improve Young Farmer Program.

Three county programs were also recognized for their contributions to Feeding America. Kosciusko County donated the most non-perishable food items, Whitley County donated the most money, and Tippecanoe County donated the most time.
