35 thousand farmers approved so far for CFAP assistance

In the first week and a half, 35 thousand farmers and ranchers have been approved for more than 545 million dollars in direct payments through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

The top five states for receiving payments are Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

===== STATE BREAKDOWNS =====

ILLINOIS:

FSA has paid 55.5 million to Illinois producers, with 34.1 million to non-specialty crops, 25 thousand dollars for specialty crops, 16.6 million for livestock, and 4.7 million for dairy.  So far, Illinois has received more than double any other state in CFAP funding for non-specialty crops.

INDIANA:

FSA has paid 17.8 million to Indiana producers, with 7.9 million to non-specialty crops, 6.3 million for livestock, and 3.5 million for dairy.

IOWA:       

FSA has paid 19.6 million to Iowa producers, with 11.9 million for non-specialty crops, 6.4 million for livestock, and 1.2 million for dairy.

MICHIGAN:

FSA has paid 14.4 million to Michigan producers, with 1.3 million to non-specialty crops, nothing for specialty crops, 2.3 million for livestock, and 10.6 million for dairy. 

MINNESOTA:

FSA has paid 11.7 million to Minnesota producers, with 5.6 million to non-specialty crops, 4.3 million for livestock, and 1.7 million for dairy.

MISSOURI:

FSA has paid 14 million to Missouri producers, with four million to non-specialty crops, 9.8 million for livestock, and 169 thousand dollars for dairy.

NEBRASKA:

FSA has paid 33 million to Nebraska producers, with 14.2 million for non-specialty crops, 19.2 million for livestock, and 394 thousand dollars for dairy.

OHIO:

FSA has paid 9.3 million to Ohio producers, with 2.4 million for non-specialty crops, 2.1 million for livestock, and 4.7 million for dairy.

SOUTH DAKOTA:

FSA has paid 30.7 million to South Dakota producers, with 7.2 million for non-specialty crops, 21.2 million for livestock, and 2.3 million for dairy.

WISCONSIN:

FSA has paid 45.6 million to Wisconsin producers, with 6.5 million for non-specialty crops, 176 thousand for specialty crops, 5.2 million for livestock, and 33.7 million for dairy, which is the most paid for dairy producers so far. 

Kansas had the most payments for livestock with 35.7 million to producers.
