62% of Ohio corn, 61% of soybeans rated good to excellent

The USDA says many areas in Ohio received much-needed rain last week.

The state’s crop conditions declined slightly with 62 percent of corn and 61 percent of soybeans rated good to excellent.

Winter wheat is rated 63 percent good to excellent with 74 percent of the crop mature and five percent harvested.

The second cutting of alfalfa hay is 37 percent complete, and the second cutting of other hay is 18 percent complete.
