64% of Indiana corn and soybeans rated good to excellent

The USDA says cool and dry weather last week helped move corn and soybeans towards harvest.

Sixty-four percent of the state’s corn and soybean crops are in good to excellent condition. Eighty-five percent of the corn crop has dented and 31% is mature. USDA says just 2% of corn has been harvested for grain. Forty percent of the soybean crop is dropped leaves with just 1% harvested.

Pasture conditions are rated 36% good to excellent. Soil moisture levels decreased from the previous week with 44% of topsoil moisture reported as adequate or surplus.
