Ag and Food Day a great showcase for Minnesota agriculture

The executive director of the Minnesota Corn Growers says Ag and Food Day at the University of Minnesota showcases agriculture in a variety of ways.

Adam Birr tells Brownfield the annual celebration highlights what the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) has to offer.

“Folks might not realize, in the job world from a student aspect what kind of opportunities are out there.  From the fan aspect, provide that exposure on ag, how important it is to the economy.  How important it is to everyday lives.”

He says Saturday’s Ag and Food Day event, which took place ahead of the football game against Fresno State, gets production agriculture in front of an important audience.

“A big point of emphasis, lots of different partners where we can just continue to maintain that exposure for corn farmers with consumers.”

Birr says the Corn Growers Association has a great relationship with the University of Minnesota, especially on the research side.
