Borlaug Dialogue addresses global hunger

Food security experts from around the world are in Des Moines, Iowa this week addressing global food concerns.

World Food Prize President Terry Branstad says the hunger crisis has escalated. “Especially with the conflicts that are going on now in the Middle East and in Ukraine,” he said. “That has interrupted the food chain to many parts of the world.”

He tells Brownfield farmers will play a major role in the solution. “Norman Borlaug used to always say, ‘take it to the farmer’ because the research needs to go to the people that are the producers. They are the real leaders and innovators.”

The theme for this year’s Borlaug Dialogue is Harnessing Change.
