Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium

Nutrient management will be a topic of discussion during the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium coming up on Saturday December 14th in Wooster.

“Keynote speaker is Jack Fisher,” said Roger High, Executive Director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association (OSIA). “With the water issues we have he’s going to be concentrating on that specific issue and how our sheep and goat producers, our small ruminant producers can get on board and help the agricultural industry along in this endevour.”

In addition to nutrient management, the symposium program will also feature a session on marketing and another on the future of the sheep industry.

“We’ve got four speakers that are going to talk about futuristic things from record keeping, to infrastructure, to what’s the United States sheep industry going to look like, to getting rid of some of the traditions we’ve had in the sheep industry,” High said.
