Castille name NIFA director

The National Institute of Food and Agriculture will have a new director in January.  President Trump named Dr. Carrie Castille to lead NIFA starting January 4th.

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says Castille has an economic development and public policy background with more than twenty years in the agricultural sector.

Castille was an assistant professor at Louisiana State University and then an advisor to the Commissioner for Louisiana’s ag and forestry department prior to joining USDA in 2017.
