Charges filed in animal abuse case

Charges have been filed against three people in connection with an investigation into animal cruelty at Fair Oaks Farms.

The suspects are Santiago Ruvalcaba Contreros, Edgar Gardozo Vazquez and Miguel Angel Navarro Serrano.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is still working on locating and arresting the men on charges of beating a vertebrate animal, a misdemeanor.

The charges come after the Florida-based Animal Recovery Mission released undercover videos showing animal abuse at the northern Indiana farm.  

Fair Oaks has temporarily suspended its home delivery service. of milk, cheese, and other products.
